Welcome to the South Carolina Association of Clerks of Court & Registers of Deeds (SCCCROD)
Each of the forty-six unique counties in South Carolina has one Clerk of Court and one Register of Deeds. Clerks of Court and Registers of Deeds are portals to court systems throughout the state.
Clerks of Court are elected representatives charged with serving the community and providing assistance to internal and external customers in Civil, Criminal, and Family Court matters of the state judicial system.
Registers of Deeds are either elected or appointed officials
responsible for recording and indexing property ownership documents as well as other documents such as Minutes of County Councils and Public Official Bonds.
The SCCCROD Association exists to encourage and facilitate networking among these professionals, to partner with the SC Association of Counties and the SC Municipal Association, and to provide the public with access to judicial resources and contact information.
